My son always demand a special food in his lunch box which he could boast among his friends..I just need to make the boring looking healthy foods to look delicious and mouth watering for my child and work on the presentation so that he likes the tiffin .So I created Special Puri with goodness of Ragi and Jowar.
Ingredients :
- 1 cup wheat flour
- 2 Tbsp Ragi/Nachni flour
- 1Tbsp Jowar Flour
- 1 Tbsp Suji/Rawa
- 1 Tbsp Ghee
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Pinch sugar
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- Pinch black pepper
- few methi leaves
- 1 /4 tsp ajwain/carom seed
- oil for frying puri
- 1/2 cup water
- pinch turmeric
How to prepare:--
- First add all flours :wheat flour, Jowar flour, Ragi flour, Suji in a bowl.
- Now add salt, cumin powder ,ajwain/ carom seed, turmeric, methi leaves, black pepper, sugar and ghee. Knead the dough with water to make tight dough for puri..
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
- Take one lemon size ball from dough
- Roll it on flat area to big Round and cut into different shapes like star, round as u like
- Deep fry puri in a medium flame.
- Take out when it turns it into light brown and serve it with sauce or chutney.
- Or pack puri in ur little ones lunch box with pickle or sauce..
